  • Susan has lived in Longview for almost 33 years and was a district teacher (12 years at Mark Morris and 20 years at R. A. Long) for 32 years. She substituted during her first year of retirement. She knows the community. She has seen firsthand the changes in schools and our society.

• You want someone who is easy to get along with, a collaborative communicator.

  • Susan's background in education and theatre has helped her become a collaborative listener who can reach consensus on difficult issues. Communication is her strong suit and she is willing to listen to all stakeholders. She has managed people, been a team member, and served in community roles as well. 

• You want someone who believes in the public schools--someone who believes that our district can be even better than it already is! You want someone who believes in fiscal responsibility. 

  • Susan believes in the power of public schools to help students to be their best today and in the future. By staying student-focused, school boards can have a huge positive impact on the community they serve.
